Triphala
The name is derived from Tri (meaning three) and Phala meaning fruits, or three fruits. As suggested, it is a poly-herbal formulation of the extract of three medicinal fruits used without their seeds. The three fruits, native to the Indian sub continent are
-Amala (Emblica officinalis), or Indian gooseberry
-Bibhitaki / Behada (Terminalia bellirica)
-Haritaki (Terminalia chebula). Each of these fruits is filled with medicinal properties. It is believed that these three fruits consumed together are far more beneficial than if taken individually.
This mixture contains extracts of all three in equal proportions. This combination proves to be a miracle supplement for dealing with several bodily functions.
